Sanya Opened Its First Duty-free Store

In line with the policy of building hainan into an international tourist island, the State Council of China approved the first duty-free store in Sanya, which opened for business this morning. Invested by the China Duty Free (Group) Co., Ltd., the store’s target customers at the moment are foreigners, overseas Chinese, Hong Kong & Macao compatriots who are departing from the Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Therefore, passport and airline ticket are required in purchasing goods, which can only be picked up at your departure in the airport international departure terminal.

Being a necessary symbol of an international tourist destination, the store is located in the downtown area of Sanya City with a total sales area of 7,000 square meters. For the first phase an area of 1,500 square meters was opened for perfume & cosmetics, boasting international top brands of Lancome, Dior, Chanel, Shiseido, Biotherm, etc. World famous watches, clothing & apparel, bags, jewelry, as well as Hainan regional specialtie will also be introduced for business in the future.

It is said that the duty-free store in Sanya will help improve its tourism infrastructure into international standards, boost its development as an international shopping center in Hainan for upscale tourists through the brand of “duty-free” and price advantages.
