Over 5 Billion Yuan to Culturalize Sanya

Within the next 2 years, 18 projects will inject over 5 billion yuan into the cultural industry in Sanya, China.

For years Sanya has been strengthening planning and development of cultural industry through increasing government support, favoring large enterprises with large projects, optimizing investment environment, and simplifying procedures for fast appraisal and approving of such projects. Meanwhile, Sanya allocated special funds from its annual local budget to support the construction of its cultural industry.

Until now 16 projects, including Nanshan Creative New Town and Animation Base, have already started construction, covering performing arts, movie and photography, animation design, national history and culture.

In recent years, Sanya significantly increased its popularity by hosting Miss World beauty pageant in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007, World Hercules Championship, International Beach Volleyball Tour, and other influential events. Within the next few years, Sanya will keep holding such events to improve the quality and level of convention & exhibition industry in all aspect, revving up the development of sports & recreation industry, as well as promoting the movie and television industry.
